Should we rent a car?
If you want to experience all that this beautiful area has to offer, we highly recommend renting a car!
Is Uber a good way to get around?
Uber available in the area, but often times unreliable. If you need to schedule transportation, we recommend the following:
Truckee River Bike Trail
A beautiful, mostly flat paved ride that follows the river from Palisades Village to Tahoe City. Beautiful river and mountain views the entire way! It typically takes 1.5–2 hours round trip, making it a perfect relaxed outing for a morning or afternoon.
Shirley Canyon Hike
Take off directly from your room in Palisades Village! This is our favorite hike in Olympic Valley. beautiful waterfalls, great views, and Shirley Lake at the top. It presents a challenges with steep climbs and rocky scrambles, but the pay off is worth it!
Tahoe Via Ferrata - Palisades Tahoe
Via Ferrata is an assisted climbing route originally created in the Italian Alps. View the entirety of Olympic Valley from this climb up the iconic Tram Face of Palisades Tahoe.
North Lake Tahoe Boat Rentals
Rent a boat for few hours, grab some towables, or just putt out a few hundred yards and enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe front and center!
