Wedding Day Details

Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?
Yes! The wedding ceremony and reception will be at a private residence on the Truckee River.

Is the ceremony or reception outside?
Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. Please plan to bring layers, as temperatures can drop in the evening.

What should I wear?
The dress code is black tie. Guests are encouraged to wear formal evening attire: men should wear a tuxedo or black suit and women should wear a floor-length gown or elegant midi-length cocktail dress, although floor-length is preferred.

Women are encouraged to avoid black and wear vibrant colors, florals and festive patterns. Bridesmaids will be wearing olive green dresses. Comfortable, stable shoes such as block heels are recommended given there will be grass and uneven surfaces. The wedding will be entirely outdoors so we suggest bringing a shawl or wrap.

May I take photographs during the ceremony?
We kindly request an unplugged ceremony so everyone can be fully present. Our professional photographers will capture all the special moments, and we appreciate your understanding.

Transportation

Is transportation provided to the wedding?
Yes! Transportation will be provided to and from the wedding venue for all guests. There is absolutely no parking at the venue. Shuttles will pick up and drop off at Palisades Village, very close to both Palisades and Plump Jack accommodations. Shuttle times and assignments can be seen here.

Should I rent a car?
Yes, we highly recommend renting a car. You’ll need one to explore everything Lake Tahoe has to offer throughout the weekend.

Is Uber a good way to get around?
Uber is not as readily available as you might find in other cities. We recommend renting a car for the weekend, or arranging rides in advance. Suggested services include Tahoe Elite, Tahoe Thunder Taxi, and Tahoe Sierra Transportation.

Guest Details

Can I bring a date?
As much as we love new friends, due to limited venue capacity we’re unable to accommodate additional guests. Invitations are limited to those named on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!

Are kids welcome?
While we love your little ones, we kindly ask that Saturday be an adults-only celebration.

For those of you with very little ones, we are more than happy to include infants in arms during the Friday Welcome Party.

Kids of all ages are warmly invited to join us on Sunday for the Festicciola al Lago event at the Reed’s Lakehouse 🌞

We completely understand the need for childcare and are happy to share a trusted local recommendation. We suggest Lifetime of Love Nannies, a highly regarded agency serving the Truckee and Lake Tahoe area. We encourage booking in advance, as availability can be limited during peak summer weekends. Travel & Accommodations

What’s the difference between staying at PlumpJack Inn and the Village at Palisades?
PlumpJack Inn offers a classic boutique hotel experience with an intimate, lodge-style atmosphere and on-site dining.
The Village at Palisades offers a more residential feel, with spacious layouts and in-room kitchens—ideal for guests who prefer extra room or are traveling with family or friends. Lodging options are walking distance from each other and centrally located within the Village, just with different styles of stay.

I want to stay at The Village at Palisades—what is the difference between standard and premier rooms?
Premier units offer modern furnishings, stainless steel appliances, flat-screen televisions, and air conditioning in each room.
Standard units may not include all of these features.

Premier and Premier Plus Suites include air conditioning in every room, while Standard suites do not. Given the weather can be quite warm, we recommend booking a room with AC.

Location & Getting Around

What is the difference between Palisades and Squaw Valley?
It’s confusing! Palisades Tahoe is the new name of the ski resort formerly known as Squaw Valley. The area is still often referred to as Squaw Valley, and some local businesses still use the name.

To add to the confusion, the official name of the valley is Olympic Valley, which you may see on Google Maps. If you see Palisades, Squaw Valley, or Olympic Valley—you’re in the right place!

What is the weather like in Lake Tahoe in August?
August is a beautiful time in Lake Tahoe! Expect daytime temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s, with evenings cooling into the 50s. We recommend bringing layers, especially for nighttime festivities.
